CBS is currently hiring for a few positions. The positions are volunteer due to funding constraints. These volunteer roles help sustain our mission while we work toward securing funding for future paid positions. Application at the bottom.
1. Social Media & Communication:
Role Summary:
The Social Media & Communication Volunteer supports CBS by promoting the organization through social media, photography/videography, and communication efforts. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting with the community, is interested in photography or film, and has a strong understanding of social media platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creating content for and updating social media and the CBS website
- Conducting interviews with community members
- Assisting with documentary projects
- Using marketing tools effectively
- Creating newsletters, brochures, flyers, and other communication materials
- Taking photos and videos at events and activities
- Obtaining media consent forms from participants
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills
- Comfortable speaking with new people
- Familiarity with a variety of social media sites
- Interested in community engagement
- Understanding and application of professional work ethics
- Familiarity with media policy/privacy laws
Personal and Professional Skills Gained:

2. Grant Writer:
Role Summary:
The Grant Writer works closely with Tek Neopany (Founder/Executive Director/CFO) to identify and write grant proposals. This role is essential for strengthening the financial health or the organization to create part-time and full-time permanent positions. Ideal candidates may have grant writing experience or a strong interest in supporting CBS through written proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identifying relevant grants for CBS
- Writing and preparing grant proposals
- Collaborating with Tek Neopany on grant strategy, budget plans, and submissions

- Familiarity with the grant writing process

3. Payroll/Finance Management:
Role Summary:
The Payroll/Finance Management Volunteer helps manage the financial operations of CBS. This role is ideal for someone with a financial background and who is detail-oriented and organized.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tracking finances and payroll for CBS
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Prepare quarterly financial reports (Cashflows, income statements, and balance sheet)
- Prepare 990 Forms
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with financial tools and processes
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge of W2/W4 and quarterly filing
