Community Building Services is an arts-mission-driven nonprofit organization.
Community Building Services (CBS) exists to foster artistic vibrancy, cultural preservation, and social empowerment through accessible arts-based programming in Salt Lake City. Rooted in the belief that the arts are a powerful tool for personal growth and community transformation, CBS is dedicated to providing free, high-quality opportunities open to public for creative expression, leadership development, and cultural exchange.
Our purpose is to:
- Promote Artistic Excellence & Accessibility – Ensure that dance, public speaking, and other community arts events are free and open to the general public, fostering widespread participation and engagement.
- Empower Individuals & Strengthen Community Bonds – Provide inclusive spaces where individuals, particularly youth and underrepresented groups, can develop confidence, leadership skills, and a strong sense of identity through creative expression.
- Celebrate Cultural Diversity & Heritage – Support programs that honor and preserve cultural traditions while encouraging innovation in artistic practices that reflect the evolving community landscape.
- Drive Social Change Through the Arts – Utilize artistic platforms to address social issues, foster dialogue, and promote unity, ensuring that the arts remain a catalyst for positive societal impact.
