Hi, I’m Yadu Mishra.
My journey began in Bhutan. I grew up in the serene Himalayas
of Nepal, where I learned the importance of community and prioritizing the well-being of others from an early age. These experiences instilled in me a strong sense of social responsibility, shaping my path in the nonprofit sector, where I have been working for over 14 years to create positive change in people’s lives.
I am deeply passionate about supporting refugee, immigrant, and marginalized youth,
particularly through creative and engaging outlets like games, sports, and arts programs at Community Building Services (CBS). Currently, I lead efforts in CBS’s youth arts program, focusing on fostering self-expression, cultural preservation, and personal growth. These initiatives aim to empower young individuals by providing them with safe spaces to learn, connect, and thrive.
Community building lies at the heart of my work. I believe that strong communities are built on understanding, inclusivity, and the appreciation of diverse perspectives. Guided by these principles, I strive to create environments where everyone feels valued, their voices are heard, and their unique contributions are recognized.
Supporting nonprofit organizations goes beyond offering services—it’s about building
meaningful connections and addressing the specific needs of the community. Whether through educational programs, resource sharing, or youth-centered initiatives, I prioritize collaboration and collective growth. My holistic approach acknowledges how social issues are interconnected and emphasizes the need for comprehensive solutions.
In all my work, I am committed to uplifting underprivileged individuals and ensuring equitable access to resources and opportunities. I am particularly passionate about helping people actively engage in their communities, fostering a sense of ownership and agency in shaping their futures.
As I continue my journey in the nonprofit sector, I remain dedicated to bridging gaps, nurturing collaboration, and inspiring others to contribute to meaningful service. My experiences have taught me that even the smallest actions can lead to transformative change. I am honored to be part of this impactful work, creating spaces of hope, opportunity, and lasting change for youth and communities alike.
